A breakdown on mass media consolidation in the United States of glossy fascism…..

When we say that the U.S. media are not “state-run”, we are using a narrow definition of the word “state”, a definition that excludes everything but the government. If we use the broader definition for “state” — the ruling Establishment — then U.S. media are indeed state-controlled. All of the senior media people are members of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the main governing body of the Establishment.

In addition:

* Most Establishment sources take their cues from the NYT and WP (Washington Post), and are reluctant to take an independent position.
* Most of the media are owned by six corporate conglomerates
* These corporations are in business to make money, not to tell the truth. There is no profit to be made by going against the tide, going against public opinion, or going against the government and losing “access” to “leaks”.
* The media are also influenced by the CIA — see Project Mockingbird

Recent media mergers in the United States

Over time the amount of media merging has increased and the number of media outlets have increased. That translates to fewer companies owning more media outlets, increasing the concentration of ownership.[1] In 1983, 90% of US media was controlled by fifty companies; today, 90% is controlled by just six companies.

Top six:
Company . Revenues (2015)
Comcast ……… $74.51B
Walt Disney ….. $52.46B
20th Cent Fox … $28.98B
Time Warner ….. $28.11B
CBS …………. $13.88B
Viacom ………. $13.27B

Media outlets (partial list):

* Comcast ……… NBCUniversal, NBC and Telemundo, Universal Pictures, Focus Features, DreamWorks Animation, 26 TV stations in the U.S., USA Network, Bravo, CNBC, The Weather Channel, MSNBC, Syfy, NBCSN, Golf Channel, Esquire Network, E!, Cloo, Chiller, Universal HD and the Comcast SportsNet regional system. Comcast also owns the Philadelphia Flyers through a separate subsidiary.

* Walt Disney ….. ABC Television Network, ESPN, the Disney Channel, A&E and Lifetime, approximately 30 radio stations, music, video game, and book publishing companies, production companies Touchstone, Marvel Entertainment, Lucasfilm, Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar Animation Studios, mobile app developer Disney Mobile, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media, and theme parks in several countries. Also has a longstanding partnership with Hearst Corporation, which owns additional TV stations, newspapers, magazines, and stakes in several Disney television ventures.

Although Viacom and CBS Corporation have been separate companies since 2006, they are both partially owned subsidiaries of the private National Amusements company, headed by Sumner Redstone. As such, Paramount Home Entertainment handles DVD/Blu-ray distribution for most of the CBS Corporation library.

The former News Corporation was split into two separate companies on June 28, 2013, with publishing assets and Australian media assets going to New News Corp, and broadcasting and media assets going to 21st Century Fox. Both companies remain under the control of Rupert Murdoch

Media convergence and vertical integration – death of the local voice or the essential evolution of an industry?

Media convergence becomes more interesting when vertical integration with content providers occurs. Current examples include content providers acquiring content creators such as Comcast (The US cable giant) acquiring NBC-Universal or here in Canada with either BCE acquiring CTV/TSN, and a host of print and radio properties, or Shaw’s acquisition of Global. The concern with increased ownership from a vertical integration perspective is that ultimately competition will suffer resulting in higher prices for media audiences. Bell’s recent push to add more to its content stream with the acquisition of Astral Media was rejected by the CRTC given it would “threaten the availability of diverse programming for Canadians and endanger the ability of distribution undertakings to deliver programming at affordable rates and on reasonable terms on multiple platforms”. Subsequently, as these media giants grow there are concerns that they will frame the context of events based on their own perspective which typically is motivated by profit, moral or geographical biases. And given that the vast majority of these transnational media conglomerates are US based, it tends to be an American perspective reinforced abroad. According to Sasa Vucinic’s speech as part of the TED Talks forum in 2005, he’s quoted as saying that“(as much as) 83 percent of the population of this planet lives in societies without independent press. … 83 percent of the population on the whole planet does not really know what is going on in their countries.” Additionally, Alisa Miller (2008) in a speech also from a TED forum noted that “79 percent of total news coverage in the US in February 2007 was entirely US focused”. There were significant global media stories emerging at the time, but ultimately according to Miller “covering ‘Britney’ is cheaper”, and I might add, more engaging from a ratings perspective. Given the strength of US media it’s no surprise that the global landscape is dominated from a US lens.

Media and Entertainment Mega Mergers Increase 50%

Article from 2014- Media and Entertainment Mega Mergers Increase 50%

The big companies keep getting bigger, with the number of mergers and acquisitions between major players increasing substantially during the past year, according to a report by PwC. This year has already seen a number of splashy pacts between Time Warner Cable and Comcast and AT&T and DirecTV, to say nothing of deals that weren’t, such as 21st Century Fox’s failed bid for Time Warner.

Overall, the number of corporate hookups was relatively even with the year-ago quarter, with 218 announced deals compared to 210 in 2013. The bulk of the activity was in the so-called “megadeal” space, which ranks mergers and acquisitions of more than $1 billion in value. Those increased by 50% year over year, from six to nine, and include the $2 billion sale of the Los Angeles Clippers and the Level 3’s $5.7 billion deal TW Telecom, in addition to AT&T’s $48 billion purchase of DirecTV and Comcast’s $46 billion pitch for Time Warner Cable.

And who owns all this media? This next article will blow your mind. If your open-minded enough to be able to accept it.

Caveat 1: I dig good Jews and dislike Zionist Jews who use other people for their own nefarious purposes. I have my Jesus versus Judas theories that some of you may have read here before. My theory goes that bad Zionist Jews threw good helpless Jews under the bus during World War II and financed I.G. Farben the most powerful company in Germany and the world at that time. I believe this was done in order to establish the State of Israel and that the Rothschild’s and their associates carried out these actions. Link to my JPR posts backing up this theory:

Caveat: I disagree with the Coveners League stance in the link above on black versus white issues. I believe all human beings are equal and consider myself an open minded progressive person, however, I find the information they have compiled in their research to be largely accurate with some minor inaccuracies. To me, these divisive global media issues are not black versus white or Jews versus Christian or Russian versus Western powers. They are humanity versus a global criminal cabal that seeks to control all of humanity for their own nefarious purposes. (Seems like the Orwellian plot of Star Wars, I know. 🙂 I believe all types of people on all political, racial and social divides must wake up to this fact so that we can come together as a well informed public to make the world a better, freer place where war is a thing of the past and our lives are drastically improved by redistributing wealth fairly across the global spectrum while divisive issues are no longer promoted and are instead pushed to the back burner while important uniting issues are promoted. Exposing and side lining our corrupt media to the realms of obscurity is the first and currently most important key to solving these profound global issues across the board.

This is why we have to go around them and relegate them to obscurity and build our own news information outlets. It is already happening and that is why the elite are now so over-reactionary. In a paradoxical sense, they have us in our own ‘West World” where the robots are waking up. I think shows like West World are created to confuse the issue and somewhat condition us to willful acceptance. The same applies to House of Cards which I believe is also a show that promotes social conditioning. Many movies this past summer of 2016 also were forms of this conditioning. Examples being: Suicide Squad, American Ultra, The Purge-Election Year, Captain America Civil War. I saw some of this predictive programming and subliminal conditioning in the 2016 Super Bowl when I noticed the big X (for Malcolm) that Beyonces dance troupe performed I said to my wife that the elite are going to inflame America and divide us like never before. That is exactly what happened over the course of 2016. They have promoted all the chaos and divisiveness. They need us fighting each other so we don’t go after them. Their most important tool is their ability to control our minds. The West World example is well worth checking into. I found one line from the shows first episode particularly obvious…….when the lead character Delores points to the moving cattle in the distance she says “see that one leading at the front….that’s the juice” (a not so subtle allusion to the Jews). Ah…the Hollywood and global elite love to rub it in our faces. 🙂

For folks that might be interested in predictive programming and how the elite bury coding in movies, I recommend the following introduction.
