On January 5, 2018 US media outlet Newsweek published the following article.

The above Newsweek article covers various aspects of the American far-right and the subject person within that may or may not be true, judging from the way the information is presented. It is not my goal to analyze the accuracy of the above mentioned Newsweek article with this post.

Instead, the purpose of this post is to simply point out the blatant hypocrisy conducted on the part of Newsweek as, during the publication of the above-mentioned article, they have neglected to inform their current readership about the fact that on August 15, 2015 Newsweek ran a lengthy article that glorified Swedish Nazis sniper Mikel Skillt of the pro Nazi far-right Azov Battalion of the Ukrainian National Guard.

PUTIN’S WAR: A SWEDISH SNIPER IN UKRAINE

A simple read through the Newsweek article linked directly above reveals that it glorifies the actions of self confessed Swedish neo-nazi Mikael Skillt as he conducts warfare against the men and women fighting for their lives against the Ukrainian regime in Donbass in the breakaway regions of Ukraine. The Newsweek article does this under the false premise that Mikael Skillt is righteous in his actions because he is fighting a {quote} “Russian invasion”.

It is now the year 2018, the so called “Russian invasion” that western media outlets and governments predicted and portrayed never came. There always were approximately 8 million ethnic Russians living in East Ukraine with over 4 million ethnic Russians in the breakaway regions. In actuality, over 1.8 million refugees fled TO RUSSIA. There is no verifiable evidence to back up the assertions made by the post coup Ukrainian government that a ‘Russian invasion” ever occurred.

In contrast, there is extensive first person victim evidence uploaded online that shows clearly that the Ukrainian Right Sector National Guard battalions (funded by western governments) have been bombing and killing innocent civilians in their homes in the breakaway regions of East Ukraine for the past three years. This continual shelling is occurring on a daily basis and is being downplayed, misreported and obfuscated by the OSCE in Donetsk, and western media outlets. At the conclusion of this post I will provide links to the daily video reports of Patrick Lancaster who is the only American reporter actually reporting on the ground in the breakaway regions of Donetsk and Lughansk.

Regarding the presentation of the Newsweek Skillt article, it is written in a manner that portrays the killer Mikael Skillt as a hero amongst the Ukrainian Right Sector Azov battalion units. It uses phrases such as “He has an easygoing demeanor and matter-of-fact way of speaking. He is quick to make a self-deprecating joke” and “He looks a little softer now than in some of the pictures of him on the front lines, the result of the more sedentary life of an instructor at Azov Battalion’s base in downtown Kiev—and, he says, of the cooking of his girlfriend, Anna. “Ukrainian women don’t like skinny men,” he explains.”

Note the way Newsweek attempts to portray him as a nice, normal guy with endearing human qualities? His “girlfriend is cooking”…….he “makes light self deprecating jokes”…..he “looks softer”. These are obvious propagandist forms of writing and portrayal.

Other obvious bits of propaganda attempting to make Skillt seem more likeable include “He throws a few lighthearted jabs making fun of Spider’s dating habits”……..“Ukraine gave me purpose,” Skillt says, “and I think a man needs a purpose”……..”Skillt had survived his first battle, killed for the first time. “Ten hours of fighting and not a scratch,” he says: “Now I knew I could react. I could survive and I could work good. It was a big boost to know I was not useless.”…..“He has always been a very confident man in his nature, almost to the grade that one might think that he believes he can fight the gods himself,” Nilsson says: “This is where I find the change in him during this war to be the greatest. He still has his confidence, but he is more humble”……….”Skillt: war made me into a much better person.”

All the above phrases are scattered throughout the Newsweek article, and juxtaposed with little bits of truth related to the fact that Mikael Skillt is a self professed neo-nazi and that the Ukrainian National Guard Azov Battalion is also comprised of neo-nazis who openly worship WW2 Nazi collaborator Stephan Bandera. The Ukrainian Insurgent Army troops led by Stephan Bandera in WW2 were responsible for the killing of over 100,000 Poles and Jews in the regions of Volhnya and Galicia.

Regarding the Azov battalion and its financiers, in the article Newsweek attempts to deflect from the fact that Ukrainian Jewish oligarch Igor Kolomoisky finances the far right pro Nazi Azov battalion, however Yahoo and Agence Presse France disclosed that very fact in an article in 2015.

Questions over the far right leanings of some volunteer groups and allegations of involvement in the murder of civilians cast a long shadow. One of the most controversial is the Azov Battalion, which uses the Wolfsangel insignia — an ancient design that was resurrected in Hitler’s Germany. The Azov has been linked to Oleg Lyashko, a politician accused of neo-Nazi sympathies. Right Sector, an ultra-nationalist party, also has its own battalion of several hundred men on the frontlines, even if the government refuses to register or pay them. Dasha Slutskovska, a 29-year-old volunteer from the battalion in Dnipropetrovsk, conceded that Right Sector has an image problem — they are relentlessly portrayed in Russia’s state-controlled media as fascists.

Called a “neo-Nazi paramilitary militia” by Congressmen John Conyers Jr. and Ted Yoho, who cosponsored the bipartisan amendment, the battalion has been a source of controversy since its inception.

With the neo-Nazi Wolfsangel symbol on its unit flash – which resembles a black swastika on a yellow background – and founders drawn from the ranks of the paramilitary national socialist group called “Patriot of Ukraine,” the group would have been a fringe phenomenon in any Western nation, but with its army unequipped to face the separatist threat in the east, Kiev actually integrated Azov into its military forces.

According to a report in The Nation, the Pentagon lobbied the House Defense Appropriations Committee to remove the Conyers-Yoho amendment from the 2016 defense budget, claiming it was unnecessary as such funding was already prohibited under another law.

Now, considering that Newsweek decided to glorify Nazi sniper Mikael Skillt, let me show you what an an Azov battalion sniper hiding in the woods near Slavyansk did to a 30 year old school teacher Irina Boevets who was simply standing on her balcony in May 2014 waiting for her husband to come home. A 30-year-old civilian woman died after being shot in the head by sniper fire while standing on her balcony in Slavyansk. RT’s Paula Slier visited shocked relatives of the victim, who say a Ukrainian army sniper is responsible, though they don’t know why. Slier arrived to the small Slavyansk apartment just hours after Irina was murdered, a large pool of blood still marking the floor of the balcony. A hospital nurse earlier confirmed that the woman died of a gunshot wound to her head.

The apartment, located on the sixth floor of a small block of flats, appeared to be away from the recent fighting in Slavyansk, and no barricades or checkpoints could be seen anywhere near the area.

Irina, who was head of a department at a technical college in Slavyansk, never took part in any protests or fighting. However, when standing on her balcony and waiting for her husband to come home from a nearby garage, the woman was targeted by an unidentified sniper. Neighbors said they heard a popping sound coming from the trees opposite her window.

Slier spoke to the family of the victim, still in shock and disbelief at what happened.

Maybe they should come clean about what they presented Nazi Mikael Skillt as a hero rather than the murderous nazi that he actually is?

Oh and in case your wondering what happened to Mikael Skillt, he’s still up and running on Twitter. When it comes to the current censorship agenda, apparently Twitter feels he deserves a free pass – Featured in his  Tweet below is Ukrainian National Guard battalion commander and politician Oleg Lyashko that Skillt promotes holding a sniper rifle. Oleg Lyashko is also featured amongst the twenty videos showing the fascist battalions in Ukraine linked above using torture to attain confessions alongside other members of the Azov Battalion.

Note also that the Azov Battalion Nazis also still have their You Tube channels up and running (as proven above) and have not been censored in any way, shape or form in any western country, including in Germany where new hate crime laws have been enacted targeted at people who criticize people of Jewish descent and immigrants. The Azov Nazis apparently receive a completely free pass from all western governments.
